Glass media from GlassBerk is used for treating water intended for human consumption.

98/83/EC, Council Directive of 3 November 1998 on the quality of water intended for human consumption. 67/548/EEC, Council Directive of 27 June 1967 on the approximation of laws, regulations and administrative provisions relating to the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous substances, and its amendments and adaptations.

It is an environmentally friendly filter medium and an alternative to sand.

It is made from special 100% recycled glass to achieve optimal particle size and shape.

The glass has a negative electrostatic charge and attracts the finest particles 300 times more than sand.

Main advantages compared to sand:

has higher abrasion resistance than sand, and a service life 4 times longer.

protects against other chemicals thanks to effective treatment.

lower chlorine and disinfection consumption than sand.

does not cause calcification, agglomeration or petrification. Thus, glass prevents channeling and biological contamination.

filters down to a few microns with 100% efficiency without filter aids.

suitable for treating drinking water, sewage and wastewater.
